semuanya hanya sementara

Waktu gue baca buku karangan Ajahn Brahm, “Si Cacing dan Kotoran Kesayangannya”, gue sering nemuin kata-kata sederhana entah gimana selalu ngena banget ke hati gue. Buku ini berbasiskan agama Budha dan penulisnya adalah seorang biksu hutan, tapi menurut gue buku ini bagus banget buat dibaca semua orang beragama apapun, karena kesederhanaan dan kealamian cerita-cerita yang dikisahkan di dalamnya sifatnya general dan pasti berguna buat semua orang :D

Salah satu yang gue inget dari buku ini, gue lupa di cerita keberapa, adalah tentang perihal “semuanya hanya sementara”. Kalo lo lagi sedih dan kecewa dan capek luar biasa… nggak perlu jadi bad mood karena semua itu toh akan berakhir juga. Demikian pula dengan kesenangan.

Kalo dari perspektif gue, hal itu artinya hidup ini seimbang. Balance.

Contoh:

1. Setelah lo ketawa-ketiwi jalan ke mall dilanjut nonton bioskop seharian sama temen-temen lo, malemnya lo morat-marit ngerjain tugas kuliah buat besok harinya.

2. Siang lo belajar bareng temen-temen lo, malemnya lo browsing sendirian di kamar dan tidur cepet.

Mana yang bakal lo pilih?

Kebanyakan anak muda milih yang pertama, soalnya rasanya full. Total seneng-senengnya, tapi total juga kerja kerasnya. “Work hard play hard”-lah istilah kerennya. Nah kalo pilihan kedua? Kehidupan yang santai dan tenang… tapi nggak menarik. Apaan sih idup lo hambar banget.

But personally for me, I do number 2. Karena gue takut, saat gue terbang sangat tinggi, gue jatuh lebih dalam dan keras.

Yes, I’m a coward. Ngga berjiwa risk taker sama sekali. Dan entah gimana, ketakutan ini selalu terjadi sama gue… sampe-sampe gue ngga berani ngerasa terlalu bahagia, karena gue takut jadi terlalu sedih. Gue menjaga hidup gue santai dan tenang, naik turun tapi hanya berupa riak-riak kecil. Walau ada kebosanan… importantly I’m safe.

Regret comes in all shapes and sizes. Some small like when we do a bad thing for a good reason. Some are bigger like when we let down a friend. Some of us escape pain and regret by making the right choice. Some of us have little time for regret because we’re looking forward. Sometimes we have to fight to come to turn to forget the past and sometimes we bury our regret and promise to change our ways. my wish on February 8th

When the time tickled on the wall, while i was watching supernatural marathon… I wondered how if my besties wouldn’t come at my room to give any surprise.

“It would be good,” I thought, “if they aren’t come. They’re noisy. And I don’t want to be forced to jump into the swimming pool in this late time. No no no. Just sleep and be mature guys. I know already you are all really care about me, thanks. “

Tickled. Tick-tock. Tickled. Tick-tock. And I asleep.

And my first wish for my official-mature age happened. No one come. Really happy.
